The association represents its members’ interests in state government and administrative institutions, consults its members on intellectual property rights issues, participates in the development of ICT industry legislation, and cooperates with higher education and scientific research institutions.
The association is actively involved in development and implementation of Lithuania’s IT export strategies. Furthermore, it organises missions for business promotion, arranges participation of its members in international expositions and other important IT sector events, and helps its members at networking within the market.
Reacting to relevant ICT sector issues, INFOBALT initiates special committees and working groups. The association has committees working on export promotion and cooperation between businesses, science and education organisations; moreover, there are working groups debating the storage devices tax imposition, management of state informational resources, and development of the information society.
INFOBALT organise projects financed by the EU structural funds. The association is currently implementing projects concerning the training of members’ employees, student internships at ICT companies, student entrepreneurial trainings, the promotion of the development of science and research technologies in the ICT sector, and the creation of cooperative networks.
INFOBALT is an active member of national and international ICT organisations, national and foreign state institutions. It is also a member of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
