Ladies and Gentlemen!
International workshop in the frames of the TELEBALT project will take place on 19-20th June 2003 in Tallinn. TELEBALT project was organized by EDNES Association ( Earth Data Network for Education and Scientific Exchange)in the frames of European Union
IST program and is running in three Baltic States by following participants:
-EDNES Association in Estonia in cooperation with publishing and informational company INFORING, which organizes the workshop in Estonia, INFOBALT in Lithuania and non-commercial fund "Open Latvia" in Latvia
The primary objectives of the project are:
- using the information and programming technologies for unemployment elimination assistance (the primary topic of Estonian participants)
- new Internet work methods development assistance, including new team work methods
- seeking for the new projects and ideas in Baltic states and their promotion assistance for the new European Union IST programs
- informational demonstration centers (IDC) development assistance, promotion of the new European Union technology and program products to the Baltic States.

IST programme promotion to 3 Baltic states
To promote IST Programme to the three Baltic countries (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) by implementing fast dissemination and awareness actions targeted on the
Baltic countries as EC newly associated states
Information Demonstration Centres
To develop a system of Information Demonstration Centres (IDC) in the three Baltic countries.
To provide in-depth demonstrations of relevant EU telematics products in order to demonstrate potential capacity and the results of IST Programme to the Baltic states telematics community with emphasis to user-friendliness.
The IDCs system will ensure the „physical base“ for TELEBALT project, its smooth functioning in 2001-2003.
Each of three IDCs will be focused on a concrete area of applications.
New methods of team work
To introduce new methods of team work (teleworking, virtual collaborative teams, etc.) into the three participating Baltic countries to launch new educational,
research, telemedicine and business projects
LINKS to products and technologies: about team work, CoBrow, Virtual Presence System (VPS), European Knowledge Platform (EKP),
Present IST situation
To do technology studies of the present situation with Information Society Technologies in the three Baltic countries.

EU-Baltic States Partnership
To encourage preparation and submission of new project proposals to IST Programme and similar future EC programmes with participation of the Baltic countries. To contribute in this way to development of potential new market for Information Society Technologies Programme and other EC supported telematics products
Training in Baltic States
To provide training measures (through TELEBALT website and site-to-face) to promote dissemination of IST Programme to the Baltic countries community. It concerns with new intellectual, technical and economical opportunities that IST Programme opens for the preaccesssion countries to increase knowledge in the Baltic states about European Commission, Fifth Framework Programme, former, present and
future programmes, with special attention to IST Programme, including logistic, management, financial accounting and auditing systems and requirements
